Israel Cheering

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend I highly recommend making your way to Yokohama and attending “Israel meets Japan, Food and Beer Festival” at Cheers bar, Saturday, the 28th.  This is the second time Cheers has put on this event, and very likely the last.  Dede (the chef), who hails from Israel, is leaving Cheers at the end of the month to pursue his craft at the next level.  While this is sad news for Cheers regulars, the event will be a nice send-off, as well as a great chance to drink Israeli beer you normally wouldn’t be able to get your paws on.  Also, Dede makes the greatest falafel I’ve ever had.  I’m going to miss ordering a late night plate of it to go with my beers.  I won’t be attending (argh!) but trust me, it’s not my decision to be missing this event.  All the food you can handle as well as one beer can be yours for just 2,500 yen (2,000 if bought in advance).

Good luck to you, Dede!
